About Me

The role of an artist --- in any medium --- is to call attention to subjects and moments that often go unnoticed.  When I paint, it is because something has evoked in me a highly personal response that I try to share with others. When people view my paintings, I hope they are encouraged to think and feel with more introspection.

I was born in 1965 in Riverside, California.  During my childhood, my family moved frequently, finally settling in beautiful Lake Tahoe.  Even as a child, I saw beauty in everything and spent many hours drawing and painting the world around me.  While still in high school in 1981, I met my husband.  We attended The University of California at Davis, where I took my very first art classes.  Then I knew I needed to paint.  When my husband joined the Air Force, I began my professional career.  In 23 years, we have moved 17 times and have lived all over the world.  Traveling has greatly influenced my art; I have painted every place we have lived. I paint every day, enter exhibitions and art shows while I continue my studies, including The Corcoran School of Fine Arts in Washington, D.C..
There, I was privileged to have great teachers who provided me a solid foundation in portraiture and landscape painting which are at the heart and soul of my style.
Although painting is my passion, my family is my blessing and joy.  Married to the same wonderful man for over 23 years, we have two gifted daughters.  I wonder as they mature if art will consume them the way it has me.  I use to drag them to art museums, now they sometimes ask to go.  Only time will tell where their passions will lead…It would make me proud if they pursued a career in the arts.  However, my greatest hope is that they find the same joyful passion in their lives that as I have found in my family and art.

Because “a thing of beauty is a joy forever,” I hope my paintings touch you, bring you a smile, and help you reminisce of a special time or place in your life.  I love eBay because it gives me a way to reach many people rather than just those who shop in art galleries.
